Our beautiful Chinese bride Alva reach out to us a few weeks before their planned holidays to Greece and Italy. By tradition, the Chinese will have the customary wedding ceremony in the day followed by a banquet in the evening. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that is beautiful yet a big test to the couple before their marriage becomes official. Sometimes these stressful and tedious events of planning, coordination, and complex communication between families, relatives, friends, and co-workers could prove way too much for any Chinese couple.
Consequently, it is not difficult to understand why Alva and her fiance Yan chose to do an elopement-style wedding in Santorini, get married in an exotic destination, enjoy a vacation, and leave all the worries behind!
Why Santorini?
There are many gorgeous wedding locations around the world, so why Santorini? This lovely couple enjoys traveling and has a particular interest in European history and architecture. At the same time, they were fascinated by the majestic Parthenon perched on the sacred Acropolis and the mesmerizing Cycladic architecture of the Aegean islands. Most importantly, they could not resist the allure of the captivating sunset of Santorini! No wonder this unique volcanic island is the perfect choice for their pre-wedding honeymoon and elopement wedding.
The Wedding
Our wedding planning team handpicked a location by the caldera cliffside with a panoramic sea view, away from the bustling island activities. The romantic ambiance surrounds this gorgeous wedding venue in proximity to Pyrgos village, the highest point on the island. The whole idea was not to have a clamorous celebration but rather a quaint and intimate affair. The uncomplicated yet elegant ceremony concluded with the couple exchanging vows and rings. It was a beautiful bright day with a cooling breeze from the Aegean sea, they took this great opportunity to do some shots around the picturesque village and continue driving along the caldera for more shots and sightseeing.
